Gas Suppression Systems
Here at Protect-O-Burn, we install and maintain gaseous fire suppression systems, this type of fire protection involves the use of inert gases and chemical agents to extinguish a fire. The systems are commonly comprised of inert gas, gas storage vessels, fire detection, release valves, delivery piping and distribution nozzles.
Types of Systems we Specialise in
INERGEN®
INERGEN® is an inert gas mixture, which is free of residues and does not contain corrosive by products that can cause damage to affected environments. INERGEN® is designed in accordance with ISO 14520 part 15 with documented extinguishments of 22 seconds for Class A fires and 17 seconds for Class B fires.
INERGEN® is that it is safe for people. INERGEN® is entirely nontoxic. Because INERGEN® will not produce a fog when discharged, escape routes remain visible.
With INERGEN®, the oxygen level is reduced enough to put out the flames, yet more than enough remains to breathe.
When discharged, INERGEN® instantly floods the room, remaining suspended to suppress fires rapidly and effectively
FM 200
FM-200 is a colourless, odourless agent containing only carbon, hydrogen and fluorine, it does not contain bromine atoms which deplete ozone. Highly penetrative and achieving an equal dispersion throughout the required area, it acts on fires largely by physical means, lowering the temperature of the combustion to the point of extinguishment.
This is a clean agent fire suppression system that protects assets from fire and the damaging effects of other conventional fire-fighting methods, which saves you costs on down time and clean-up.
Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
Carbon dioxide is a non-corrosive gas that does not support combustion nor react with most substances, making it very useful in an electrical environment, where a nonconductive extinguishing agent is needed.
A Carbon dioxide fire suppression system works by displacing oxygen, starving the fire from the oxygen it needs for combustion to take place.
The carbon dioxide is also very cold upon discharged, so it cools the source of the combustion down as well.
